Minister Miquel Iceta endorses Salou's sports bet
The Minister of Culture and Sport of the Spanish Government, Miquel Iceta, has endorsed the commitment of the Salou City Council to turn the capital of the Costa Dorada into a leading sports destination. The minister attended the event organized in Madrid, within the framework of Fitur, to present its sports calendar for 2023, with 19 competitions and sports activities in different disciplines.

Salou receives € 6 million to be more sustainable, smarter and more seasonally adjusted
The Salou City Council has been working for a long time to renovate the tourist destination and turn it into an avant-garde destination, this is more sustainable, smarter thanks to digitization, and more seasonally adjusted. The proposal has been supported by Next Generation funds, through the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, which will finance 6 million euros to make the project a reality.
The 5G Area of Camp de Tarragona includes Salou
The 5G Strategy of the Generalitat de Catalunya, aimed at promoting this technology in Catalonia, includes the creation of various 5G areas. Salou asks to repeal the spending rule and reorient the tourism strategy
In a videoconference with the Secretary of State for Tourism, the state company for innovation in tourism technologies, Seggittur, and different tourist destinations throughout Spain, the mayor of Salou, Pere Granados, has called for "the repeal of the spending rule and the adaptation of the Smart Tourist Destination (DTI) program to the new situation, and to the new and different preferences of tourists".
