Tourist train of Salou
One of the tourist attractions in Salou is the 'trenet' or tourist train, a train that transits through the main attractions of the capital of the Costa Dorada.
The tourist train offers one route in winter only in the morning and, in summer, two routes with different stops that allow to enjoy the coastal landscape of Salou and to discover the buildings and the most emblematic places of the municipality. Prices and schedule here.

Salou with Ukraine, against war and violence
The Mayor of Salou, Pere Granados, together with the Municipal Corporation, met in front of the doors of the Salou Town Hall to read an institutional declaration condemning the military invasion of Ukraine, supporting the Ukrainian people and committing to peace. About 300 people attended the event, including a representation of the Ukrainian community of the municipality.

Salou wants to recover Russian tourism
The mayor of Salou and president of the municipality's Tourist Board, Pere Granados, has met telematically with the counselor of Turespaña in Russia, Antonio de la Morena, to establish collaborative actions that allow the recovery of Russian tourism for Salou, once the overcome the pandemic situation. The manager of the Board, Marc Espasa, also participated in the meeting.
LaLiga and PortAventura World will create a soccer theme park
LaLiga and PortAventura World have created a joint venture to create a soccer theme park and offer digital entertainment about this sport. The forecast is to invest 150 million euros in 3 phases, the first of which will be ready for the 2020-2021 football season. The project has been baptized with the name "The Beat Challenge".
Salou works to be a sustainable tourist destination
Salou, the capital of the Costa Dorada has a plan and an objective: to become a sustainable tourist destination. To achieve this, the municipality will work this year to execute the actions that will make it an Intelligent Tourist Destination (DTI) and will deepen the seasonality. This was explained by the mayor of Salou, Pere Granados, when taking stock of the 2019 season.
64 teams registered in the 55 RallyRACC Catalunya-Costa Daurada
The 55 edition of the RallyRACC Catalunya-Costa Daurada, which will be held between October 24 and 27, has 64 registered teams from 24 different countries. 11 of the participating vehicles will compete in the World Cup (WRC) while 28 are of the R5 class (WRC2 Pro and WRC2 categories).
The tourist season maintains the 2017 figures regarding overnight stays
The number of overnight stays in establishments in Salou during this year 2018 already accounts for 7,803,648, a figure that has been reduced by 0.6%, comparing the figures with the same period last year. Spaniards, English, French, Russians and Irish are the ones who visit the capital of the Costa Dorada the most, where the promotion of a sun, beach and family destination within Catalonia is emphasized. Regarding the number of overnight stays that were carried out in 2016, the decrease is more than 6%, since 2016 was a record year in tourism.

The Tourism Business Federation of Tarragona (FEHT) and the Provincial Council of Tarragona have published the figures for the 2018 season, which highlights a 3% decrease in the number of overnight stays compared to 2017. The data for this season is now closed they have more similarity with 2016 than with last season, where a record rise was experienced.
Final line to promote Salou as a tourist destination before summer
