From October 24 to 27, 2019, Salou and the Costa Dorada will host the scoring event for the rally world RallyRacc Catalunya-Costa Daurada. Regarding the number of overnight stays that were carried out in 2016, the decrease is more than 6%, since 2016 was a record year in tourism.

Coinciding with the start of the RallyRacc-Catalunya Costa Daurada, Salou organizes a very different "rally": that of gastronomy. From October 19 to 28 a new edition of the Tapas Rally begins, which will take advantage of the increase in visitors to the city due to the sports event. Marine itineraries, the new way of tourism in Salou
Salou wants to take advantage of the attractiveness of its marine ecosystem by means of an activity, a prioress on the Costa Dorada, which consists of swimming along signed marine itineraries. A team of specialized monitors will lead those who want to do this activity, which will be free. The aim is to disseminate the Vias Bravas, marine routes marked for swimming and diving. It is a project supported by the Tourist Board of Salou that aims to promote sport at sea.
The tourist forecasts for the Costa Dorada this season are optimistic, although they will not surpass that of 2017
The Costa Dorada expects good results for this season, but without breaking any record, as the aggressive offers that are made in other destinations in the Mediterranean, such as Egypt or Tunisia, will decrease the number of visitors in 2018, according to the Federació Empresarial d 'Hostaleria i Turisme de Tarragona (FEHT).
The RallyRACC Catalunya-Costa Daurada will debut new routes in 2018
A dozen new timed stages, which will pass through the Terra Alta, are the main novelty of the 54th edition of the RallyRACC, which will have one of the two timed events in Salou. Last Thursday the test was presented at the Auditorium of the Provincial Council of Tarragona, entity that promotes the test, along with its Tourist Board, the City Council of Salou and PortAventura World.
