Pirates and corsairs that have marked the history of Salou
“Els pirates de Salou” is an entertaining book published by the Salou City Council, with illustrations by Pilarín Bayés, with more than 100 stories or historical notes about pirates and corsairs, who attacked the coast of Salou for 400 years.

Núria Rion wins the X Salou Prize for pictorial research
The work "Projecte Retorna / Pell", by Núria Rion Virgili, was the winner of the X Salou Prize for pictorial investigation José Luis Rubio Sáez Memorial, which failed yesterday at the Torre Vella, and which is endowed with 7,000 euros. The works of Ruth Moran and Anna comellas Alaben have won the two second prizes of 2,000 and 1,000 euros.

La Torre Vella de Salou was built by the Archbishop of Tarragona Pere Cardona in 1530 with the aim to protect and warn the city of pirate attacks and looting.

The artist Ismael Nadal El Bekay exhibits his collages, that reflect still lifes, in the showroom of the Torre Vella in Salou since December 1st.
It is the latest exhibition of contemporary art that is open to the public in 2017 to introduce local artists.
