What can and cannot be done in PortAventura in Covid

Security measures by Covid in PortAventura

Salou. Costa Dorada. 08 July 2020.
Later than expected by Covid-19, PortAventura opens doors on July 8 with a capacity of 30 percent of the total and with many security measures to protect visitors and employees from the coronavirus.

Firstly, the ticket purchase system has changed, since you must reserve the specific day you want to go to PortAventura. Remember that only PortAventura and Ferrari Land are open, while the Caribe Aquatic Park is closed.

Other security measures are:
  • temperature control is mandatory in the park and in hotels and will be done by cameras
  • the use of a mask is mandatory
  • there are signs indicating new circuits to travel through the park
  • cashless payment is encouraged to avoid physical contact
  • safety distance is due
  • the park also recommends frequent hand washing and has distributed disinfecting gels at different points in the park
At the moment there will be no night tickets or white nights either and only some restaurants and food outlets are open.

As for the resort, only the PortAventura, Gold River, Lucy's Mansion and Colorado Creek hotels are open. The pools can also be used. For all hotels, you can cancel your reservation for free up to two days before arrival or change the date of your stay for free.

25 years

What you will find when visiting the park is the theme and decoration that reminds us that, just this year, PortAventura turns 25, although it can only be partially celebrated by Covid19.

Throughout these 25 years, PortAventura World has accumulated 90 million visits, 2019 being the best of all with a record of 5.2 million visitors. Another important piece of information is related to investments. Since 1995 the owner company has made investments worth more than 1,100 million euros in the development of the resort. The last one, a photovoltaic plant that will provide renewable energy to the resort, becoming the largest photovoltaic self-consumption plant in a resort in Europe when it is operational in 2021.
