Salou begins to act as Capital of Catalan Culture 2025
On January 26, 2025, Salou officially began to act as Capital of Catalan Culture 2025, after taking over from Sabadell, which held the title during 2024. From this moment on, Salou is the cultural reference point of Catalonia and has 12 months ahead to strengthen its cultural role in various areas such as heritage, history, popular and traditional culture, and in different artistic expressions.
Salou in December: Gastronomic Days and Fiesta del Calamar
Salou is your destination in November and Desember if you want to enjoy squid. Every year, and there are 45, the Squid Festival is celebrated, a playful and festive fishing contest that recalls the municipality's sailor past and just after the Calamar Gastronomic Days arrive with succulent proposals.

The Fiesta del Calamar has become a long-term tradition, as evidenced by the 44 years it has been held in the capital of the Costa Dorada. An important part of these holidays is the fishing contest related to this tasty mollusk. So next Monday, November 26, the kick-off to fans of the fishing world of the municipality is given around this meeting organized by the Department of Culture of the City of Salou with the collaboration of the Nautical Club of the municipality.
