Salou. Costa Dorada. 23 June 2019.
From October 24 to 27, 2019, Salou and the Costa Daurada will host the scoring event for the rally world RallyRacc Catalunya-Costa Daurada. This is the only mixed rally of the world that combines dirt and asphalt, and is the 15th consecutive year that is organized on the Costa Dorada. In total they will cover almost 1,300 km and the organization expects to exceed 190,000 spectators last year.
The shakedown will take place on October 24 in Salou from 9:00 in the morning, while the official ceremony will be at 7:00 pm, all from the Jaume I promenade in the capital of the Costa Dorada.
The next day, October 25, the test will be concentrated in Terra Alta, with sections in Gandesa starting at 9: 23h, and Horta de Sant Joan-Bot starting at 10am. Starting at 11 am, the Fatarella-Vilalba dels Arcs section is planned. The same sections will be repeated in the afternoon from 3: 23h the Gandesa, at 4pm, the Horta-Bot, and from 5pm, the Fatarella-Vilalba.
On October 26 the Rally moves to the Baix Penedès and the Conca de Barberà. The first section will be in the municipality of Savallà at 9 o'clock; another in Querol at 9:46 and in Montmell at 10: 38h. The section of Savallà will be repeated at 2:00 p.m., that of Querol at 2:46 p.m. and that of Montmell at 3:38 p.m. This will be broadcast live on TV. This day will take place the urban stretch of Salou at 17.30h.
On Sunday, October 27, and the last day of the RallyRacc, the race will be concentrated in the central part of the Costa Dorada, with a first section in the Mussara that will start at 7:45; while the one in Riudecanyes will be at 8:38. The repetition in the Mussara will be at 10: 53h and in Riudecanyes at 12: 18h. The podium will take place in Salou, at 13:26. This will be the 55 RallyRACC Catalunya-Costa Daurada, Rally of Spain 2019 and has, one more year, with the impetus of the City Council of Salou and the Tourist Board; the Provincial Council of Tarragona, through its Tourist Board; PortAventura World; the Secretaria General d'Esports of the Generalitat and the Catalan Agência de Turisme.
The different details of the itinerary and its novelties have been presented in an act with the president of the Tourist Board of the Diputación, Martí Carnicer; the president of the RACC, Josep Mateu; the mayor of Salou, Pere Granados; the director of the Catalan Council of Sports of the Generalitat of Catalonia, Antoni Reig; and the director of the sports area of the RACC, Aman Barfull.
According to the mayor of Salou, Pere Granados, who has been accompanied by the Councilor for Sports, Hector Maiquez, "this test is valued very positively by Salou, as it means a commitment to sports tourism, generates economy and promotes our destination worldwide, in addition to reinforcing our season finale. " He added that the test also demonstrates "the great ability to organize sports elite events of the motor world, with good understanding and good collaboration between public and private initiative."
