Festa al Cel: Grand Air Show on September 19, 20, and 21, 2025

Salou. Costa Dorada. 25 March 2025. On September 19, 20, and 21, 2025, Salou will host the 28th edition of the "Festa al Cel," the largest air show in Spain, organized by the Barcelona-Sabadell Aeroclub. Aerobatics with civilian and military aircraft will amaze and entertain the whole family.

The air show will take place on Sunday, September 21, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., off the beaches of Salou, featuring fighter jets and state-of-the-art aircraft. Prior to this, Friday, September 19, 2025, will be a training day for participating aircraft. Saturday, September 20, will feature all-day family activities on the beaches of Salou, followed by a light and fireworks display in the evening.

Planned activities include the installation of flight simulators, historic aircraft, and educational activities for all audiences. The Festa al Cel is also open to Spanish army and civilian aircraft, helicopters, hot air balloons, paragliders, and paramotors, among other flying devices.

The organizers estimate that the Festa al Cel could attract around 250,000 people during the weekend, and for this reason, the mayor of Salou, Pere Granados, has expressed his satisfaction with the expected positive impact on the municipality's economy. In fact, this will be the first time Salou has hosted an air show of this nature.

The Festa al Cel was founded in Barcelona in the year of the Olympics, in 1992, and has been held in various cities ever since. The goal is to bring the world of aviation closer to the general public, both from an educational and entertainment perspective.

Salou's history with aviation dates back to an episode starring the young French pilot Lucien Demaziel, who took off from the beaches of Salou and flew over Reus on April 21 and 27, 1913. During that time, Demaziel participated in several pioneering flights in Catalonia and Spain, even flying in an air show for spanish King Alfonso XIII.
