Salou exceeds 30,000 registered inhabitants
Salou. Costa Dorada. 01 November 2022. Salou has surpassed, for the first time, the 30,000 registered inhabitants, with a total of 30,400 registered people, coming from 102 different countries. Regarding this total, it should be noted that 51% are men (15,527), and 49% are women (14,873).
The age groups that stand out above the rest are the 40-49 year olds, with 5,853 people; that of 50-59, with 4,621 registered; and the 30-39 age group, with 4,401 people.
Regarding children, from 0 to 9 years, there are 2,812 children; figures that increase, in the 10-19 age groups (3,255), and from 20 to 29 years, with 3,403. In these last three cases, there are also more men than women. The trend reverses, from the age of 6 onwards, where there begin to be more women than men, a figure that accentuates, with the arrival at 80 (58% are women; and 42%, men) and at the age of 90 (70%, women; 30%, men).
The high life expectancy in the municipality should be highlighted, given that there are up to 181 people who are between 90 and 99 years old; and 6 people over 100 years old (3 men and 3 women).
Salou stands out for its cultural diversity, since it is a tourist town; characteristic that is also transferred to its registered inhabitants. Out of a total of 30,400 people, 20,119 are of Spanish origin (66.18%), while up to 10,281 are foreign (33.82%).
Of the latter, 2,683 (9% of the total) are EU foreigners, that is to say, they come from European Union countries. And 7,598 are non-EU (25% of the total).
Followed by Spain, the 10 most predominant countries of origin are the following: Senegal (983 people); Romania (800); Russia (774); India (728); Ukraine (700); Morocco (609); Italy (552); Pakistan (457); Colombia (445); and Bulgaria (376).
