Angkor, the new water ride of PortAventura, is inspired by a Cambodian temple
PortAventura opens season April 11 with Angkor, the new attraction in 2014, and Kooza and Cirque du Soleil during the summer

PortAventura, the largest tourist destination in southern Europe, will open on April 11 to welcome the 2014 season. PortAventura is located in the heart of the Costa Dorada, in the towns of Salou and Vilaseca, and south of Barcelona.
Port Aventura, which opened in 1995 and each year receives about 4 million visitors, presents important new features for the 2014 season. The first one will be the launch of Angkor: Lost Kingdom Adventure a new attraction that opens on April 11, coinciding with the start of the 2014 season PortAventura.
Angkor is a water ride about 300 meters long that visitors will in some rubber rafts from which they must defend themselves from the dangers of the jungle, armed only with shotguns water. Angkor: Lost Kingdom Adventure is inspired by the Cambodian temple of Angkor Wat, considered the world's largest religious structure, surrounded by large forests in 1992 and declared a World Heritage Site.
Angkor have 14 boats up to 8 people and a long journey of about ten minutes. The attraction will be located in the area of China, with Shambhala, the highest roller coaster in Europe and will occupy a large area of 10.500 square meters.
Cirque du Soleil Kooza at PortAventura
The other big news in PortAventura for the 2014 season will be the presence of Cirque du Soleil, that during the months of this summer will present his show Kooza in Port Aventura.
Kooza, which may be seen every day at PortAventura for about 2,400 spectators, is a show that combines acrobatic performances with humor and the art of clowning, following the storyline of Innocent, star of Kooza.
The agreement PortAventura and Cirque du Soleil PortAventura supposed to become the first European resort that hosts a Cirque du Soleil, thus following the strategy to turn Port Aventura the best family entertainment destination in Europe.
