Cambrils. Costa Dorada. 20 April 2014. Cambrils, like other towns in the Catalan coast, claimed the romesco sauce as a sign of identity of their cuisine and especially seafood cuisine. The sauce, with different variations, textures, ingredients and applications is claimed as own by many municipalities. In Cambrils, the romesco was associated with the first tourist slogans as 'Sol, marinated and romesco' offered as incipient major tourist attractions of Cambrils.

Now, years later, romesco retakes center stage and between 24 April and 11 May, 41 Cambrils restaurants will participate in the second edition of the Days of Romesco of Cambrils.

The days have gone from 26 restaurants in the first edition to 41 this year set menus offer different price based romesco sauce or cold cooked dish during the 18 days of the campaign.

Parallel activities

Paralelalmente have also organized activities around this sauce, closely linked to the seafaring tradition of Cambrils. The first will be popular with romesco mejillonada made ​​by fishermen on May 3 at 11:30 am at the Royal Staircase, you can enjoy three euros.

The second will be a reception and ceremony honoring Cambrils restaurants with over 40 years experience and culinary excellence. The event will be held on May 6 at 19 am in the plenary hall of the City of Cambrils and continue with two cultural events organized in collaboration with the Department of Culture.
