The members of the committee meet with the president of Repsol

The president of Repsol, on 17 January 2011 presented to the authorities of Tarragona, the company's initiative to launch immediately a comprehensive plan of action in the maritime area of Tarragona, in order to contribute to improving environmental protection, while improving quality and safety of operations of Repsol to coast. This plan involved a series of investments, for a lot of 130 million euros in the period 2011-2014, aimed mainly at improving the Casablanca platform and offshore facilities, as well as the prevention and detection of discharges, and the provision of resources for immediate intervention in such contingencies. This 13 March 2012, after the meeting of the Monitoring Committee of the investments to improve the Comprehensive Plan for Coastal Protection, its members met with the President of Repsol, Antonio Brufau. During the meeting examined the status of the investments of the Plan of Integrated Coastal Protection, being made on schedule. During the meeting, said the status of the Comprehensive Improvement Plan for Coastal Protection, committed and carried out by the company Repsol. In this respect, and respect to the platform, were completed in 2011 the priorities of the plan, obtaining the certification of the design of a platform for us outside (Lloyds Register) using the most rigorous standards in the industry (the applied to North Sea platforms). Jetty to have completed all the actions considered immediate. The plan to accelerate the inspection lines jetty, which was scheduled to end January 2013, has finished moving the date committed. The meeting of the Monitoring Committee was held at the Repsol Technology Centre (CTR) so that its members might know the progress being made in the systems of early detection of the presence of hydrocarbons in the marine environment . The committee visited the CTR during which he was informed of various investigations being undertaken at the center. The Repsol Technology Centre is the largest private research center in the state. Its mission is to create value and knowledge through R & D. Within this complex are carried out research in high-level chemical, refining, exploration, alternative energy or fuels, which are internationally recognized. At the center employs over 400 researchers and technicians, and some of the projects they are involved are participated by universities in Spain, government agencies and private companies.
