Reus celebrates the day of Our Virgen de Misericordia

Reus. Costa Dorada. The morning of 25 September will be dedicated to the Virgin of Misericordia with Mass at 7, at 8 and 9 in the Sanctuary of Divine Mercy. At 8 grallers groups in the city, the drummers of the Devil's Dance and Dance Reus Pere Joan Barceló roam the streets in honor of the Virgin.   The day will be long and full of activities. So nothing better than starting with a fork breakfast at 10 am an get ready for the festive touch from the City Council and the exit of Cercavila with the Mulassa , the Giants, the Eagle and Nanos, to the plaça de la Pastoreta. At 11 am, from the Plaça de la Pastoreta, will go down the Seguici Festiu to the Sanctuary, with the participation of Vibrio, the Dragon, the Basilisk, the Lion, the Nanos, the Mulassa and Gegants The Gegant Carrasclet, Dance by Pere Joan Barceló, Ball of Galeras, Cavallets Ball, the Ball of Cercolets, the Ball of Prims, the Valencians Ball, the Ball de l'Esbart Bastons Santa Llúcia, the Ball Joan Mossèn Vic, the Ball de Gitanes, the Ball de l'Esbart Bastons of the choral society, the Xiquets, l'Àliga and the Symphonic Band of Reus. Also at 11 am, at the Shrine will take place the solemn concelebrated Mass presided by Archbishop Jaume Pujol Balcells. The musical section is playable by the Orfeo Reusenca with the collaboration of the participants and then dance all groups at the Holiday Parade. At 2pm everything is ready for the food festival with groups of the city and opposite the Shrine, from 17.00 to 19.00 h, the giants, children and beasts make their dances, with the subsequent performance of castellera Xiquets Reus. The Passeig de la Misericordia has been the venue for the traditional Go down of the Ball of Diables to the Sanctuary at 7:30pm. The procession will consist of the Child Diables Ball, the Ball of Diables Reus and private devils with own suits. Then, inside the sanctuary, l'Àliga Reus offers to Our Lady of Mercy its formal dance with musical accompaniment by Cobla Reus Jove At Plaza del Santuario, the Ball de Reus Diables dramatize the Dance of San Miguel, then, there will be the turning on of the Vibria and the Dragon, to continue the spectacular carretillada by the Reus Diables Ball with the lighting of the façade of the Sanctuary. From 10.30pm the night will offer different musical proposals. In Plaza del Castillo, a Musical BBQ where you can order food and simultaneously choose videos or in plaça del Mercadal, the concert with the final XI Youth Music Competition with the groups La Via Muerta, Trencasons or Manzoni as guest group.
